Discover the amazing musicians, songs, stories, and sounds that have shaped generations of music through apps and activities inspired by this iconic synthesizer and the artists who have embraced it.

Each facet of

was designed to bring visitors a joyful experience behind every digital door that leads to each new section of the site.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with multi-disciplinary, independently owned design studio

to bring this vision to life. Leading the project was Pentagram’s sound and experiential design visionary

, who we previously collaborated with on the

back in 2016 for that year’s Moogfest.

With a passion for Moog synthesizers and the brand's legacy, Yuri was the perfect partner to celebrate the Model D's cultural impact. He and the hardworking teams at Pentagram and Counterpoint helped create an experience that allows visitors all over the world to discover the deep history and sound of the Moog world.

“Working on this web project for the past two years has been an incredible journey, as Moog has always been my top fascination. Their synthesizers' special sound and beautiful design hold a special place in my heart. I still vividly remember our first discussion years ago where we envisioned a web experience that celebrates the Minimoog Model D. Our goal was to craft a tightly interactive and fun experience that would capture the essence of Dr. Bob Moog and his team’s groundbreaking innovation.

Throughout the project, the collaboration has been tight-knit and extremely enjoyable. We have exchanged numerous ideas on how to make the introduction of this beautiful innovation both fun and captivating. I am grateful to everyone involved in this project for their hard work and dedication.

I invite you to visit the website and immerse yourself in the discovery of the Minimoog Model D—a true testament to the innovation and creativity of its creators.”

Long before there were Oscars on his shelves, Trent Reznor was waxing floors at Right Track Studio in Cleveland – biding his time while he put together the skills and the gear he needed to launch his career.

“I managed to come out of that (experience) with a PPG 2.3, an old Minimoog I had found with the MIDI retrofit and an Oberheim expander.” Reznor recalled. “That was my rig that I felt like I cover all the bases with at the time.”

It was enough. Mutating the demos he’d put together during off hours at the studio, Reznor compiled his demos and experiments into “Pretty Hate Machine” – a genre defining release that put the Model D he acquired on the front lines of his debut.

“Any synth bass that's ever been on ‘Pretty Hate Machine’ was Minimoog.”

When “Head Like A Hole” was released as the record’s first single, Nine Inch Nails became a significant part of a generational bridge into the industrial underground – a place where electronic music was poised on a razor-sharp edge between danceability and aggression.

“What I think is genius about it is it may not have every modulation possibility imagined. “It doesn't have this week's form of synthesis in there but what it does have right is the recipe of components in there (to) feel like an instrument. It has its own identity. It feels musical. It's hard to make it sound bad. It's elevated from a box with circuits in it and paint on the outside, to an instrument that has a personality and invites you to not only learn how it works but how to play it. And it feels expressive.”
