Each facet of

was designed to bring visitors a joyful experience behind every digital door that leads to each new section of the site.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with multi-disciplinary, independently owned design studio

to bring this vision to life. Leading the project was Pentagram’s sound and experiential design visionary

, who we previously collaborated with on the

back in 2016 for that year’s Moogfest.

With a passion for Moog synthesizers and the brand's legacy, Yuri was the perfect partner to celebrate the Model D's cultural impact. He and the hardworking teams at Pentagram and Counterpoint helped create an experience that allows visitors all over the world to discover the deep history and sound of the Moog world.

“Working on this web project for the past two years has been an incredible journey, as Moog has always been my top fascination. Their synthesizers' special sound and beautiful design hold a special place in my heart. I still vividly remember our first discussion years ago where we envisioned a web experience that celebrates the Minimoog Model D. Our goal was to craft a tightly interactive and fun experience that would capture the essence of Dr. Bob Moog and his team’s groundbreaking innovation.

Throughout the project, the collaboration has been tight-knit and extremely enjoyable. We have exchanged numerous ideas on how to make the introduction of this beautiful innovation both fun and captivating. I am grateful to everyone involved in this project for their hard work and dedication.

I invite you to visit the website and immerse yourself in the discovery of the Minimoog Model D—a true testament to the innovation and creativity of its creators.”

Before the glam-tastic clothing, the wolf heads, and the harlequin imagery, there was Alison Goldfrapp in a raincoat scrubbing the interiors of the bungalow she and her musical partner Will Gregory had chosen to record their first album. It’s 1999 and the duo are somewhere in Wiltshire. Along with all the other equipment Gregory brought to the sessions that would ultimate yield the “Felt Mountain” album, was his Model D.

“I (originally) got it so you could put the external filter into the computer and put things through it.

The record which they’d emerge from the cottage with would be called “Felt Mountain,” and Gregory’s Minimoog got put to use in a number of interesting ways.

“(On) ‘Paper Bag’ Adrian Utley (of Portishead) came and played on that track and it’s got some nice little ‘whoop whoop whoops’ effects going on in the background that he played on my Minimoog. We used it for some signature bass bangs as well. On ‘Lovely Head’ there’s a kind of ‘BRANNG’ that comes in. That’s the Minimoog (because) so if you push it, it would actually scream at you.”

“Felt Mountain” would go on to be nominated for a Mercury Prize in the U.K. alongside the likes of Radiohead, PJ Harvey, and Gorillaz. It was a massive achievement and Gregory’s love for the Model D remains undiminished.

“I had one years ago, and sold it when I needed the money, and almost instantly regretted it. (Japanese synths) always had something rather clinical about them. But the Minimoog always had this sort of primal, kind of elemental side to it. The Minimoog just always had the sort of human quality to it…a warm rich thing.”
