Each facet of

was designed to bring visitors a joyful experience behind every digital door that leads to each new section of the site.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with multi-disciplinary, independently owned design studio

to bring this vision to life. Leading the project was Pentagram’s sound and experiential design visionary

, who we previously collaborated with on the

back in 2016 for that year’s Moogfest.

With a passion for Moog synthesizers and the brand's legacy, Yuri was the perfect partner to celebrate the Model D's cultural impact. He and the hardworking teams at Pentagram and Counterpoint helped create an experience that allows visitors all over the world to discover the deep history and sound of the Moog world.

“Working on this web project for the past two years has been an incredible journey, as Moog has always been my top fascination. Their synthesizers' special sound and beautiful design hold a special place in my heart. I still vividly remember our first discussion years ago where we envisioned a web experience that celebrates the Minimoog Model D. Our goal was to craft a tightly interactive and fun experience that would capture the essence of Dr. Bob Moog and his team’s groundbreaking innovation.

Throughout the project, the collaboration has been tight-knit and extremely enjoyable. We have exchanged numerous ideas on how to make the introduction of this beautiful innovation both fun and captivating. I am grateful to everyone involved in this project for their hard work and dedication.

I invite you to visit the website and immerse yourself in the discovery of the Minimoog Model D—a true testament to the innovation and creativity of its creators.”

In mid-May 1979 Kate Bush stepped off the stage at London’s Hammersmith Odeon, not to return for 35 years. Instead, she could focus her energies on elaborate productions like the televised special that Christmas which she’d use to promote tracks from her third album “Never for Ever.”

For a song called “Egypt,” Bush sonically captured the complex nature of the country with conflicted lyrics and the exotic tones of Max Middleton’s Minimoog.

"The song is very much about someone who has not gone there thinking about Egypt, going: 'Oh, Egypt! It's so romantic...the pyramids!'” Bush told ZigZag magazine in 1980 “Then in the breaks, there's meant to be the reality of Egypt, the conflict.”

Middleton had been a key figure inside Jeff’s Beck’s orbit during the height of his solo career in the mid-Seventies, and that pedigree along transformed him into an in-demand session player by the time he got the call to work with Bush. His Minimoog part, which is featured throughout the track, resembles a high-pitched version of the Egyptian ney – a traditional wooden flute made from a hollowed-out piece of cane. With a little bit more attack and some subtle reverb, the Model D hovers between sounding electronic and a bit mystical.

“Never for Ever” went unreleased in the U.S. for several years, but it became the first album by a solo female artist to top the album charts in the U.K.. Bush had once again assembled the right collection of sounds and stories to continually prove herself a unique voice in the pop world.
