Each facet of

was designed to bring visitors a joyful experience behind every digital door that leads to each new section of the site.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with multi-disciplinary, independently owned design studio

to bring this vision to life. Leading the project was Pentagram’s sound and experiential design visionary

, who we previously collaborated with on the

back in 2016 for that year’s Moogfest.

With a passion for Moog synthesizers and the brand's legacy, Yuri was the perfect partner to celebrate the Model D's cultural impact. He and the hardworking teams at Pentagram and Counterpoint helped create an experience that allows visitors all over the world to discover the deep history and sound of the Moog world.

“Working on this web project for the past two years has been an incredible journey, as Moog has always been my top fascination. Their synthesizers' special sound and beautiful design hold a special place in my heart. I still vividly remember our first discussion years ago where we envisioned a web experience that celebrates the Minimoog Model D. Our goal was to craft a tightly interactive and fun experience that would capture the essence of Dr. Bob Moog and his team’s groundbreaking innovation.

Throughout the project, the collaboration has been tight-knit and extremely enjoyable. We have exchanged numerous ideas on how to make the introduction of this beautiful innovation both fun and captivating. I am grateful to everyone involved in this project for their hard work and dedication.

I invite you to visit the website and immerse yourself in the discovery of the Minimoog Model D—a true testament to the innovation and creativity of its creators.”

Sit back and watch the Minimoog in action. Grab your popcorn!

It’s 1980 and Island Records impresario Chris Blackwell has assembled a crew of heavy hitters in the Bahamas in a bid to help relaunch Grace Jones’ career. Eventually known as the Compass Point All Stars, the band included French keyboadist Wally Badarou in their ranks.

Badarou had made his bones playing with artists as diverse as South Africa’s Miriam Makeba and Robin Scott aka M, who wrote the synth hit “Pop Muzik.” Now he was in Nassau helping to turn Flash and The Pan’s leftfield pop track “Walking In The Rain” into something that might work on the dancefloor. On top of the unshakeable groove laid down by drummer Sly Dunbar and his bassist Robbie Shakespeare, Badarou put down his simulation of a slithering sax solo via his Minimoog.

“Chris Blackwell thought it was a real sax going through some electronic effects. Given that I never considered myself a Minimoog expert really, it was kind of flattering that I could bluff some expert ears with it.”

Badarou achieved a sound that was not only modern enough to slot into the New Wave vibe Blackwell was reaching for, but that also had elegant, almost-jazz like flourishes to it. And he maintains that he was able to pull it off without relying on any studio trickery.

“(There were) no special effect (used) as far as I can recall. Just (some) ADSR carefully tailored to my fingering, added to Alex Sadkin’s genius at EQ-ing, if anything.”

The album made Grace Jones something of a phenomenon. She was suddenly embraced as a capital A artist – a Top 40 success who became a point of endless fascination to those who danced to her music deep inside clubland.
